Licensed Massage Therapist and owner of The Pause of Massage, LLC
I have a B.S. in Mathematics with a minor in Business and have had several fabulous jobs in my amazing life including used bookstore owner, math tutor, autistic tutor, church office manager and accountant. I have been an accountant for 20 years. In 2018, I hit a wall and just could not face another tax season. My husband encouraged me to quit if I was that unhappy. I was only working part time so that my focus could be on raising our two sons but I felt hesitant to quit without a plan. I got brave and took the plunge anyway. I did some soul searching to try and figure out what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I knew I needed something that was not stressful and didn’t have deadlines. When I thought of not stressful, I thought of relaxing. When I thought of relaxing, I thought of massage. Now there was something that wasn’t stressful and didn’t have deadlines! I would be able to help people, make a difference and help spread the peace, love and joy that I naturally feel. I investigated a couple of massage schools and found one that I felt would be a great fit. I took a tour and classes were starting a week later. I felt like it was meant to be and I signed up. I took a 19-month program and graduated from SHI Integrative Medical Massage School in April 2020 and passed my MBLEx licensing exam in May 2020. I decided to go into private practice for myself in order to have as much flexibility as possible with my schedule, so my family remains my top priority.
At SHI, I learned so much including Muscle Energy Techniques (MET), internal and external TMD (Temporal Mandibular Disorder) treatment and craniosacral therapy. I am eager to continue adding to my toolbox of techniques so that I can provide the best care possible to my clients. Massage therapy allows me to help people, make a difference and work in a peaceful environment that doesn’t even feel like work! I look forward to being of service to you, whether it’s for a relaxation massage or to help you get out of pain!
